Best describes as a fusion between mosaic and tapestry this concept is using smaller porcelain pieces to make up larger units by stringing these together. The concept was developed in an attempt to create a "transparent" mosaic, flexible in format, size and appearance. The "transparency" is created by the gabs between the porcelain pieces which despite their appearance are not transparent themself. The size and shape of the porcelain pieces varies from one artwork to the next - some are flat and others textured (like a "Corn Flex"). The flat shape gives a strong graphic appearance, while the "Corn Flex" texture makes the glaze reflect light much more to the point where the pieces almost looks liquid or glass like.
